Catriona White - Opotiki
I learnt dance from an early age, learning mostly Tap from Gill Clout (Gisborne). I achieved Advanced Honours BBO. I danced throughout the North Island, winning championships and scholarships. I have taught tap, jazz, ballet, general dance, for 15 years, teaching students through to National level, with them winning many championships/scholarships and so forth. I utilised the BBO syllabus for exam work.
I have a long association with dance comps in Napier - as a dancer, teacher, and now adjudicator. I first came to Napier to dance in comps when I was a child, in the 1980's and 90's. In the 2010's I returned as a dance teacher with my students to the Easter comps held in the wonderful Municipal theatre. I am excited to be returning again, this time as the adjudicator.
I started adjudicating in 2023, in Te Puke for Penny Ward, judging tap and jazz, and I loved it! I judged at Braemar (Gisborne) recently and received very positive feedback, both of my reports provided, and my timeliness. I provide positive, detailed, supportive, constructive feedback to each competitor. I am an efficient adjudicator, ensuring I keep to time-frames. I believe it is an honour to be an adjudicator.
