Susan Melville - Christchurch

Pianist and conductor, Susan Melville has adjudicated for music competition societies throughout New Zealand.

She has had extensive performing and teaching experience in Australasia, the UK and Europe, and directed choirs and instrumental ensembles over many years, including the Hawke's Bay Youth Orchestra since 1995.   She is now resident in Christchurch.

Susan has been guest soloist with “Saxcess”, assistant musical director and chorus mistress for Opera Hawke's Bay, a faculty member of Singing School NZ since 1999, has recorded for Concert FM, studied conducting at Basel Conservatorium, and performed with many leading NZ musicians, including Jonathan Lemalu, Deborah Rawson, and Patrick Power.

In 2015 she undertook a nationwide recital tour with international operatic tenor Keith Lewis.
